RAK Courts Department launched the (green courts) initiative to contribute to the fulfillment of UAE Vision 2021 in the field of sustainable environment, and demonstrate its commitment to the objectives of the strategic framework of the Government of Ras Al Khaimah 2015-2017 in the field of sustainable environmental system. The initiative will be overseen by the of Health, Safety and Environment team of Courts Department through an integrated plan that includes a set of procedures and legislations aimed in its entirety to achieve this initiative. These procedures include: 1- The distribution of boxes to collect paper and plastic wastes in all organizational units and spaces, and establishment of partnerships with specialized companies to recycle the waste. 2- Increasing the amount of green spaces in the department, and the distribution of small shrubs in offices and corridors. 3- Adopting electronic communications and electronic archive to reduce the use of paper and inks. 4- Using Instructional Posters to reduce the use of electricity and water in the department. 5- Contracting with a company to clean employees\u2019 cars using environmentally friendly materials without the use of water. 6- Holding training sessions to educate and familiarize staff with the need to contribute to and maintain sustainable environment. 7- Establishing partnerships with competent environmental bodies in the country. 8- Installation of air purifiers in the internal environment of offices. 9- Display environmental instructions and guidelines on the electronic screens. 10- Support institutions and individuals initiatives in the field of environmental protection.
